Do you need Calendar Worksheets in your classroom? I am going to say YES YOU DO! The fact that I could have Grade 4 students who didn’t know how to read a calendar, B-L-E-W my MIND! It took me a few years of complaining that they didn’t understand calendars to actually do something about it! NOW, I teach calendars on a daily and monthly basis – if only more mature and more experienced Alison could give some tips to graduate teacher Alison!
Through my Morning Maths program, I teach calendars on a daily basis. Together with a monthly worksheet, students are constantly practising reading and interpreting calendars. Using the worksheet as a test of students knowledge, I am able to keep track of how their understanding has increased and how they are able to read and interpret the monthly calendar.
