It’s time again for a Swap, Share and Give blog linky from some amazing Australian Teachers. There are three parts to this linky. The first is we have swapped a product. The next we share a freebie with you and the last part is a giveaway! So read on!
The blog linky is hosted by the lovely Bec at Books, Bug and Boxes. I had the privilege of meeting Bec in January (we live only an hour and a bit away from each other) and was also lucky enough to be buddied up with her for this linky!
SWAP
I get to review this great pack from Bec. It’s called Squiggles and Wiggles – Finish the Picture and I have to say straight out, it was an absolute hit with my class!
First we watched Mr Squiggle on Youtube. This was one of my favourite shows as a child so I didn’t mind at all watching it again. We started from 3 minutes and watched only through to 7 minutes. The children had the idea and were excited to try it themselves!
I started with the Mini-Squiggle sheets. There are 10 different sheets in this pack so I have a variety photocopied to give to the children. Here are some of my favourites!
Obviously, some need to be turned upside down to make sense!
Then Bec has included 14 different larger sheets where children can fill the page with their drawings. I love how this boy turned the shapes into a person with their hands reaching for the umbrella!
For an extra challenge, Bec has included Activity Cards. There are 27 different Activity cards so for older children you could easily give them a sheet as well as challenge card to really see what they can create. Here are some of the examples…
Also included are writing sheets so children can write about their drawings and also create a story about them.
I LOVE this pack and can see it being so useful for teachers to have on hand for when children need a quiet afternoon, during a narrative writing unit, or to leave for a relief teacher! (OR are you a relief teacher yourself, what a great thing to have in your bag ready to do if you have spare time!) Giving children the creativity to draw and write is wonderful – and these sheets give you a helping hand on the pictures!
Meanwhile…. my class have been asking when they get to do Mr Squiggle again! Haha! I’ll have to have some copied off ready for some free time this week! If we have an inside lunchtime for a rainy day, I think they will be all snapped up!
Head on over to her Teachers Pay Teachers page to purchase the pack for yourself! For 38 pages, it is an absolutely bargain!

A few weeks back we started looking at teens numbers. We put together this clothes line in our classroom to help us order numbers.
Then we used the same cards to check if we knew how many that number actually was!
The cards were made with the super cute clipart of Mel at Graphics From the Pond.
